How this started

He knew fitness. But he hadn't trained someone like me yet.

Ajay's been in this world since he was a kid — competitive soccer, years of strength training, the kind of person who knows how a body responds to work. He knew it wasn't the same for everyone. But knowing that and living it are two different things — and he hadn't really had firsthand experience until we started training together.

A couple months in, things started to change. I got stronger, but I also got more aware — of the days I was extra tired, the hormonal swings, how important strength actually is when your body fights you on it. And then, because I'm a Scorpio, I went down the rabbit hole. The supplements we were taking — what are these? What are they actually doing? Why is my algorithm now plaguing me with every wellness product and fitness hack it can find?

I started pulling threads and didn't stop. The more I learned, the more I realized how much of what's out there is built to sell — not to help. And Ajay was learning too, in real time, that coaching me required a completely different playbook than anything he'd used on himself.

I looked at him and said: we need to help people understand this. That's how Body By A started.

About us

An ex-athlete and the workout buddy who changed everything

Ajay's been in fitness for over 20 years — from competitive soccer to years of disciplined training. He knew what worked. And then he started training Tessa, and realized the science he'd built his life around was only half the picture. Meanwhile, Tessa went full Scorpio and pulled every thread she could find — hormones, cortisol, supplement labels, the gap between what the industry sells and what the research actually says.
